The City: Bath

Unesco Heritage City, Roman baths, Queen Victoria's Pump Tea Room, Jane Austen's writing ground and references to her characters and plots spotted in street signs, gorgeous parks, lovely summer evenings . . . what more is there to say?  Oh, yes, our private hillside overlooking the beautiful Bath valley and a walled garden for reflection and writing.

Near Glasgow:

Unesco Heritage City for a fun outing, a quick transit to quiet nature for real work, workshops in manorhouse, daily walks for inspiration and clearing the head.

Workshop Options:

Cost for the demi-week of working together to end writing struggles and get going on a new or abandoned project is only $375 for our 3 long day workshop, plus optional private coaching sessions on Day 3, and the cost includes the soiree, working lunches and teas and a simple second-evening soup/salad dinner together at our venue. The farewell dinner is pay-your-way and is held at a nearby pub overlooking the beautiful Bath valley.

Because of our venue, this workshop is set-up to use the mornings, afternoons and evenings, leaving less in-workshop time for sightseeing, but giving you the rest of your week to freely explore Bath and its many lovely museums, ruins and parks in summertime. There are also easy train connections to London for a late-summer weekend if you wish.

The optional Here You Begin workshop is, as always, $85/person and is available for both partners and runs the fourth day of the workshop week.

Half-week intensives
for Struggling or Blocked Writers

                      —part of our Explore/Write/Be series

_Morning writing workshops and quick exercises and discussion to approach sensitively the nature of why we don't write or struggle when we do, followed by afternoons free for writing in the beautiful walled orchard, conservatory or garden of our private venue. Late afternoon tea at our venue, with  time to gather our wits and reflections gleaned during the day. As the days progress, we'll break down the walls and meet the page.

There is also time for exploring museums and Jane Austen's Bath, the Roman Baths and museum, shops, and beautiful streets of Bath, a UNESCO heritage city unlike any other in England.

On our first night together, we welcome you with a soirée on our private hillside and we gather for a warm pub dinner at a nearby tavern overlooking all of Bath for our farewell evening. There is plenty of time for many individual sessions with your Editor/Coach as well as this course is set up to intensely work together for two days morning, afternoon and early evenings before breaking for the day. You'll enjoy a calm focus on the reasons for not writing, quiet nature and a beautiful garden for thoughtful walking, and the sense of a jumpstart on any projects calling to be begun or abandoned and wanting resurrection.  The third day is devoted to private coaching sessions as requested or needed, and the beauty of Bath is there to explore at the end of your course.

You have the option of adding on a
Here You Begin day workshop for yourself and your partner before taking a few days to yourself for vacation and exploration of this beautiful area of England, from the beaches of Devon to the relatively near wilds of Wales or Glouctershire or to London by easy 1 hour train train if driving on the left doesn't entice you.

One-day and Two-day
Here You Begin workshops

These are intended for either our Explore/Write/Be writers coming from far away or for our local seekers wishing to get started on the life and work they are here in this life-time to do.

Whether given in one day or two, the focus of this workshop is the same:  You will discover how to be On Task and On Purpose, creating the work — even the job — you wish to do as you undertake the life journey only you can do, given your specific gifts, talents, inspirations and cares. No matter where you are starting from now, whether just starting out, or starting again at any stage of life.

The Here You Begin course is offered as two half-days and at this time is scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland. More information on location and dates will be provided soon!

Picture

As always, Here You Begin workshops are offered at only $85 per person, with a promise of one-for-one, meaning your attendance fee allows another of fewer means and less opportunity — such as homeless youth or newly homeless families — to attend a workshop set up specifically for them.

The Rest of the Details:
For all Explore/Write/Be Workshops

_As with all international travel, it is strongly recommended you purchase separate travel insurance in case of flight cancellations, volcanoes stopping air travel, illness prior to or during the trip that would make any cancellation required. Most small and lovely hotels, inns and flats do not reimburse upon cancellations.  That's what the travel insurance is needed for.

We are unable to offer a refund of your workshop fee(s) within eight weeks of the actual dates, as we must book the workshop venues early and have required charges already paid as well.  Prior to the eight week date, we are able to offer a refund of your workshop fees only, less 2% for refund charges.

All reservations made prior to the eight week cut off require a 50% deposit to be held, with the confirming balance to be paid in full before the eight week cut-off. We will send to you an initial invoice for the first half of the workshop fee, and an invoice reminder to you again before the 8-week due date. Any reservation made within eight weeks of the workshop must be paid in full at reservation, no refunds can be made. Your insurance would cover the loss for you, or we are happy to offer you attendance at another Explore/Write/Be workshop in another location or at a future date.

If at the eight week deadline, fewer than 3 attendees have reserved or confirmed for any workshop, we assert the right to adjust the workshop content to meet the requirements of those attending. In this case, all workshop fees will be offered to refund if you wish not to attend.
