"You will not remember the path you took,
nor the silence that speaks your name . . ."
A new collection of poetry dealing with love, loss, self-realization, and remembrance. Taking inspiration in part from medieval lyric poems, especially those by the troubadours, trouveres, and trobairitz, and the medieval 'courts of love', and from other lyric traditions across the ages, the poems speak to the intricacies of love and the human experience. At time humorous, at times heart-wrenching, Songs of Remembrance is a haunting work by a vibrant new voice in poetry.

Here You Begin--
A Guided Journal to Discovering
The unwelcome result of a dalliance between a pedigreed German Shepherd mother and a nere'-do-well wandering Golden Retriever father, the pups were the last remaining two survivors of the unwanted litter dumped at the local animal shelter. Now they slept as a puddle of fur in the middle of the nearby PetsMart. They were unknowing benefactors of the dog- and cat-saints of a local charity who raid the kill-shelters for great pets and give them a better chance of adoption among more-soft-hearted pet-owners who shop at the petfood outlet. From the beginning it was clear they came as a two-some, but the reasons for this took many years of discovery and a life-time of practice to learn the language of love between the littermates who shared one sense, one brain and one language, as they moved as a single unit in this world: one golden and somewhat ADHD male, the other sweet, smarter, and (surprise!) deaf, relying on her brother and her instinct to make a complicated world understandable to her. That is, until the day their overwhelmed guardian became their protective pack leader and their student, by learning their silent language of love and connection.
This is the story of learning the pups' language, of inter-species communication, but moreover, it is the story of allowing one's heart to become naked to the power of Trust, Intuition, and Love in a dog-training world where power and logic try to drown out what they are eager to tell us.
A tale of learning the language of love and communication between two dogs joined at the brain, set against a world of Terrier Mafia-dons, No-No Ladies, and wiggling dog shrinks. . .
