Projects to Start or Finish: Guidance and Coaching Workshops
Currently just offered as a 3-day, 4-night intensive-on-location through the Explore/Write/Be series. Check back often for additions.
If you are interested especially in this as a retreat, please let us know and we'll set one right up for you. There are currently plans in the making to offer these in Bath, UK, Scotland, the Rocky Mountains and Prague, Czech Republic. We can create one near you!
Bring a project you are aching to start, or determined to finish. Enjoy hours of inspired work-time without the distractions of home and life, while also receiving an Editor's fine eye and heart-felt encouragement with built-in one-on-one sessions on the work as it proceeds during the workshop.
Choose to get feedback from from your seasoned developmental Editor/Coach as well as encouragement from fellow attendees (if you wish), participate in morning mini-workshop sessions on current struggles and elements of plot, character and other typical trouble-areas, or simply enjoy story hour with us at the end of each day. Sequester yourself away to work or take tea time to turn over plot complexities with an understanding new friend or your Editor in sessions.
Short exercises and optional work-outs are offered to help strengthen your voice, POV, characters and narrative/story.
One-on-one sessions are set up as you need to discuss specific stumbles or mazes of the work and to help get the kinks of plot out. In the case of non-fiction, enjoy one-on-one coaching to get to the dazzle and strength of voice of your project and leave behind the boring. Daily readings of work (if you wish) in optional group story time and on the Explore/Write/Be series, lots of time for solitude, quietude and the inspiration of a new European city to nurture your soul and energizing focus to start or finish your project.
All you need bring is your manuscript or idea, your writing tool, and your determination. Humor, hope, and focus is welcome and helpful, too.

Workshop Terms and Details: Project and Writer's Block Workshops only.
Please use the form above to enquire on our workshops or to request a reservation.
All information from the form is used only to reach you or to register you for our workshops and is not shared in any way.
A deposit of 50% is required when we confirm your place and will be requested of you via PayPal invoice, where you may privately use a credit card or bank draft of your choice.
For the workshops held in Colorado or other US locations, the balance in full is due 14 days before the workshop begins; another invoice will be sent to you at that time.
If you must cancel, you may do so at full refund if cancellation is made 2 weeks in advance of start date, less a 5% refund fee. If you must cancel within the 2 weeks before the workshop, we're happy to reschedule you to another workshop at a different time of your choosing, using your deposit or workshop fee as payment for it; we are sorry that the deposit is not refundable at this point. Or you may choose to use the workshop fee toward one-on-one coaching or mentoring as described here.
If you are signing up for a workshop within 2 weeks of the start date, payment in full is due at the time of your confirmation of place and no refunds are able to be made. We are happy to reschedule you to another workshop if something comes up and you cannot make it, or you may use your workshop fee toward one-on-one coaching and mentoring as above.
Although we usually have wait lists for these workshops, should the minimum number of participants not be met, we reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or combine workshops. In these cases, you will be offered a full refund, or a series of one-on-one mentoring hours at regular ates (see our mentoring page for more information) or the option to schedule into a later date workshop, as you prefer. All such cancellations will be made a full 10-days before start dates. In case of weather issues, workshops will be rescheduled rather than cancelled as needed and makeup dates or one-on-one's offered.
With your final invoice paid, location and directions to our workshop location will be provided. Unless other location is specified in Explore/Write/Be or On-Location, our workshops are held are in the Metropolitan Denver/Front Range area and are usually convenient to public transport.
